Framing Is the Trickiest Part

...but don’t worry! Here are some helpful tips and options for DIY, semi-custom, and custom framing:

1. Print Size & Border

Each print includes a ½" white border to allow for taping when mounting under a mat and frame.

For example, if you purchase an 8" × 10" print, the image itself measures 8" × 10", while the full print (including the border) measures 9" × 11".

This white border is intended to be hidden beneath the mat.

2. Material Details

Most prints are produced on canvas (unless specified as paper) but are designed to be framed under glass.

This is because:

  Colors appear richer on canvas
  
• 
  The material is more durable and less prone to wrinkling or damage during handling
  

DIY Framing Options

If you’re framing your piece yourself, ready-made frames with mats are widely available.

• 
  Target offers highly rated frames designed to fit standard image sizes such as 4" × 6", 8" × 10", and 11" × 14".
  
• 
  IKEA provides a wider range of options, including 20" × 28", 16" × 20", 12" × 16", 12" × 12", 8" × 10", 8" × 8", 5" × 5", 5"x7" and 4" × 6".
  

Important: When selecting a frame, focus on the mat opening size (the size of the artwork it fits), not the overall frame dimensions.

Semi-Custom & Custom Framing

If your print size falls outside standard dimensions, you’ll need a semi-custom or custom framing solution.

  Frame It Easy is a great option for semi-custom framing. Simply enter your image size, and the platform will guide you through the process. Your frame will arrive with step-by-step assembly instructions.

  Framebridge offers full-service custom framing. Choose “Start Framing,” select “Physical Art,” then “Paper Print” (even though your piece is on canvas, it should be framed like paper art). They’ll provide instructions to send in your artwork, then return it fully framed and ready to hang.
  

With the right frame, your artwork will look its best and be protected for years to come.

All reproductions are printed to order. Please allow 1-2 weeks for us to carefully print and package your piece when it is ordered.

Prints 8x10 and smaller are packaged beautifully in a plastic sleeve and shipped and in a sturdy flat mailer. Prints 12x12 and larger are rolled in tissue, tied up with a ribbon and shipped in a rigid mailing tube.

Original pieces and Framed Prints are carefully wrapped and sent in a well-fitting sturdy cardboard box.

Artwork will ship via USPS or UPS depending on your selection at check-out and most domestic packages arrive within 2-4 days from time of shipping (includes tracking & insurance).
